Big Ben Bricks is closing
Big Ben Bricks has been a 20-year journey. Many thanks to the customers, supporters and those that have inspired me along the way.
When I first started out, I simply wanted to build more realistic steam trains. The LEGO train hobby has been expanding in ways I never imagined twenty years ago. Again, I say thank you to all of you.
The store as it is, the injection molding tools, the brand, a small lathe used for making wheels with o-rings and existing inventory are for sale. I'd be particularly pleased if the store could find a new home with someone that wishes to continue the business. If you are interested, please email me at ben at big ben bricks dot com. Please take the time to tell me about yourself and why you would want to own a small train wheel business.
A few immediate details:
All tooling was made in the United States and is stored at an injection molding company near Portland, Oregon USA.
Will there be a 'going out of business sale'? No. Prices for Big Ben Bricks train wheels have remained the same for 20 years and I've never had a sale. I don't see a reason to start now.
Why are you selling? Other interests and priorities demand my time.
How much are you selling the business for? I'm more interested in finding a good fit rather than getting the best price.

Big Ben Bricks train wheels are now available in Europe through BlokBricks
To better meet the needs of customers in Europe, Big Ben Bricks train wheels can be purchased from BlokBricks. BlokBricks currently stocks all wheels available in Black and Red.
Need a slightly smaller wheel for your MOC? Wheels shown on the left are the standard small train wheel and on the right are two versions of the new X-Small #4 size wheel. Available in red and black. Spoked wheels use a five long axle.

Train wheels with o-rings
Introducing medium drivers with high traction, low duromater, food grade silicone o-rings. Now available in red and black.
Here is a short video showing construction of a four wheel tank engine using all LEGO power function parts (motor, battery and IR receiver) and four medium wheels with o-rings. The end of the video shows the engine running around some track for demonstration purposes.

Please take a half minute to watch a Daylight 4449 using Big Ben Bricks
train wheels and Power Function battery power. Since this is battery
powered, a classic reverse loop is easily done.
